I had the pleasure of reading Tom’s book, “Present! Connect!” and interviewing him about it on Counter Culture, my weekly program on PBS39. I’ve known Tom for almost forty years, first as a comedian and writer, and later as a video producer for major corporations. In reading the book, I was delighted to find references to his early days doing standup and improvisation. He was quite good at it. What he emphasizes in the book is how the techniques he used to win over comedy club audiences, are precisely the same for winning over any audience even in the corporate world. Tom has always been hilarious, a great comedy writer, and performer, but he’s also a great coach for anyone tasked with making a presentation. If you can’t get Tom in person, get his book, it will layout everything you need to do to become a successful speaker. “Present! Connect!” shows you the way, makes you think, and even makes you laugh along the way.
